Spartan Athletics is faced with a $325,000+ need to provide funds to student-athletes in financial need. At the Spartan Foundation, we have launched this project, the “Complete Champion Financial-Need Fund” to help close the gap. Our goal is to raise $250,000 for in-need scholarships for Spartan student-athletes.
This fund will help students who are struggling to cover tuition fees, the inflating food costs, housing expenses, and much more. We are calling to our Spartan community to help allow these student-athletes to experience a TWU education and compete with other high-level athletes in the Spartan Athletics program.
The Spartans are a group of 385+ highly committed, fiercely competitive, hard-working student-athletes at TWU, comprised of 11 varsity teams who compete in the Canadian USPORT league. The Spartans are committed to giving back to their community in any way they can. They have participated in many outreach trips, volunteered at the Food Bank and Soup Kitchen, are currently leading the “Trinity Rangers” doing activities with local young adults with special needs, and recently created a campaign to raise funds for an inner-city diversity project. The Complete Champion Financial-Need Fund will create a lasting impact on these student-athletes’ lives and those they serve. Young adults attending TWU Spartan Athletics enter society after graduation as a “generation ready”; prepared to be successful leaders who strive for excellence and contribute to the community.
