Heart of a Champion Dinner

April 15, 2026
Chapter Estates Winery | 1212 216 Street, Langley, BC

The annual Heart of a Champion Dinner is an intimate evening dedicated to raising funds for need-based scholarships for Spartan student-athletes.

In 2026, we are bringing this special event home to the Valley. Rather than hosting in Vancouver, this year’s dinner will take place at the beautiful and brand-new Chapter Estates Winery, located at 1212 216 Street in South Langley. With their grand opening just around the corner, Chapter Estates provides a stunning new setting rooted in our local community.

The Evening

The evening will begin with a stand-up welcome reception featuring passed canapés alongside curated wine tastings, followed by an exceptional seated dinner. Chapter Estates is a family estate winery, whose vision is to create a place of gathering, hospitality, and connection. We are honored to have Chef Andy Slinn, Executive Chef of Chapter Estates Winery, leading the culinary experience. A Red Seal–certified chef, Chef Slinn has led a number of notable culinary events, including their most recent Harvest Dinner at The Farm at Glover, bringing both creativity and excellence to the table. In addition to the winery’s offerings, we will also be bringing in a select French wine to complement the dinner. A special thank you to this year’s Dinner Sponsor, Engel & Volkers – Scholz & Lee Real Estate Team; Wine Sponsors, Brackish Consulting Group and Alder West Poultry, and our Welcome Reception Sponsor, DO Philanthropy Inc.

Supporting Spartan Student-Athletes

Proceeds from the evening will directly fund need-based scholarships, helping Spartan student-athletes pursue excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and faith.

Fueling Dreams with Financial Need Scholarships

On April 16, 2025 we hosted our annual Heart of a Champion Dinner at Elisa Steakhouse in Vancouver, raising vital funds for financial need-based scholarships. These scholarships help ensure no student-athlete is held back from pursuing their calling due to financial hardship.
We heard firsthand from Danika Dool, a graduating rugby athlete, and Cedrik Iyumva, a track & field alum, about how your generosity has opened doors, broken barriers, and laid the foundation for lasting transformation.
“Being a student-athlete at TWU, through kind donations, gave me community, broke socioeconomic barriers, and gave me and many others an avenue to go on as part of a larger competitive and Christ-centered environment… I left a leader, equipped to serve, lead, and build others up in the same way I was built up.”
— Cedrik Iyumva, TWU Spartans Track & Field Alum
“Through grants from donors like you, the Spartan Foundation filled in the gaps so I could complete the program of my dreams while playing a final year of rugby… Without financial aid, I would not have been on the leadership team or even played this past year. I am one of many athletes who can say this.”
— Danika Dool, TWU Spartans Women’s Rugby Athlete (Class of 2025)
